Each year, the Capitol Square Foundation hosts a prominent national speaker to lecture at the Ohio Statehouse. The event helps raise funds to increase public awareness of all that happens at the Ohio Statehouse and the critical role our citizenry plays in our government.
Recent speakers have included author and historian David McCullough, author and historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, columnist and author David Brooks, and public policy consultant and author Susan Eisenhower.

Murrow Award for outstanding achievement, and the Gracie Allen Award from the Foundation of American Women in Radio & Television. In 2024, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Jane Pauley is a member of the Broadcast and Cable Hall of Fame and the distinguished author of two New York Times bestsellers: a memoir, Skywriting: A Life Out of the Blue and Your Life Calling: Reimagining the Rest of Your Life.
